Hello dear readers, it’s Friday and again I am very excited to share this very easy and quick recipe which is actually a part of my “3 Easy Taiwan Recipe” series.
Yes, I still can’t get over from our pre pandemic days in Taiwan. It was 2 years ago around July 2019, that I fell in love with its scenic view, culture and tradition and most especially their food. Aside from their wonderful and “instagrammable” places, the taste of Taiwan cuisine is the one that really stuck in my “palate”. Their vast high mountain tea plantation, makes them as one of the “Best Tea Producers for excellent tea variety like oolong tea, black, green and white tea. It is from Taiwan that originated the “Bubble Tea” some call it Boba or Pearl milk tea, which is best paired with their pastries for a sweet snack.
My favorite aside from Taiwan pineapple cake, egg rolls, mantho is their Taiwanese Cheesecake or to many they call it sponge cake with cheese or Castella.

The good thing is that here in Dubai, there are a lot of Asian Gourmet Restaurant and groceries online where I can order my favorite Taiwan cuisine. So obviously , you know what’s in our fridge, ha ..ha..ha.. noodles, dimsums, dumplings , mantho and of course, the Taiwanese cheesecake is a regular food to greet you when you open our fridge …ha .ha.ha.
Well to start this 3 Easy Taiwan Recipe series for Travel Unnies Kitchen blog, we will start with the Taiwan Cheesecake Toasty and here are things you will need:
What you will need:
- Left over Cheesecake
- Powder or Icing Sugar
- Air Fryer
- Baking paper/ parchment paper
Instructions
- Slice the cheesecake into cubes or depending on the size you want your toasty will be.
- Place a baking paper or parchment paper punched or cut with holes for the proper air heat circulation. (This will make your toast cheesecake to have a crunchy edges but without a bitter taste)
- Place directly your slice cheesecake on the Air fryer without preheating . Cook it under 180 degrees Celcius heat for about 8 to 10 minutes, turning it to the other side (flip over the cake after 4 or 5 mins.) on the halfway of its cooking time.
- After 10 minutes or when it turned crisp and brown at the edges, place in a plate.
- Sprinkle with icing or powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy while it is hot!
See you next week for our AFR#3 for the 3 Easy Taiwan Recipe. Until then..bye bye!
