Exploring an unfamiliar place in one day could be taxing (mentally & physically) but if you make plans and preparations ahead, it will be really a rewarding and an exciting experience. And yes!, on our 4th day in Taiwan, we toured different places around New Taipei City.
First , we started the day by preparing ourselves with a 5-10 minutes exercises (just few stretches) a quick shower and then had a full breakfast from our hotel and then proceeded early to the meeting point to meet David, our tour guide from KKday .We packed some few snacks and extra water in our bags aside from mini towels and extra shirts.
And here is our first stop :
1. Yehliu Geopark
The Yehliu Geopark is located in Wanli District, a northen east coast part of Taiwan is one of the prime tourist destination.

Yehliu is the home to numerous rock formations and was given imaginative names based on their unique shapes. A well-known formation is the “Queen’s Head”, and it’s successor, the “Princess Head”.

Other formations include the “Fairy Shoe”, the “Beehive”, the “Ginger Rocks” , the “Leopard” and the “Sea Candles”.
2. Shifen Old Street
The Shifen old street is famous for releasing the Sky Lanterns with your wishes, hopes and dreams written on it. There are a lot of skylantern stores along the train tracks sides where in you can set up and choose the colors and write your wishes on it.

3. Shifen Waterfalls Park & Jing’an Suspension Bridge
You can get a good view of Shifen in this 128 meters suspension bridge which also connects the Shifen and Nanshan. Towards the end of the bridge leads you to the waterfalls park.
4. Jiufen Old street & Skyline A-mei Tea House
The Jiufen is a small village in the mountains located an hour drive from Taipei. Walking through this busy and narrow alleyway could be tiring for some because it is always jam-packed with people shopping, eating or simply just chilling at the tea houses, various small food stalls, souvenir shops, and pottery stores.

Traditional Jiufen Tea Ceremony
Known for the smallest cultural villlage in moutains, it has become more popular due to its similarity to the settings in the popular movie “Spirited Away” by Hayao Miyazaki. Although it was never confirmed that it is indeed had the same setting in the movie, those red lanterns will look very very similar or familiar to you.

And so that’s a wrap for our 8 hours (9am to 5pm) wandering in Taipei Taiwan. For more snaps you can check on the youtube link below and also for some useful links for the booking arrangements on transportation schedule, and tea ceremony from KKday.
